“Sa mga mata ni, Chito”, is a story written and directed by Jerem San Juan. A short film about two brothers, one’s a taxi driver (Chito) and other is a “balik-bayan” (OFW who just came back home). Chito’s life turned upside down when his brother came home who turns out to be a drug mule.
This short film is also a thesis film of one of my college friends, Jerem. He asked me to be his assistant director.
This is actually the first film I worked on that involved real professionals from Philippine film industry. Our director recruited a crew of professionals from casts, gaffers, cam-ops and such.
I will not forget this project because of the things I’ve learned. This was actually the stepping stone for me to learn a lot about being an assistant director and how to handle a big crew.
I was really happy with all the praises I’ve got with this film.
